As a local organization dedicated to building a stronger community, the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County is pleased to present this Chautauqua County Community Report Card. This report presents a "snapshot" of the social well being of our people taken over recent years and presented as measures of relevant social conditions.

This report has two purposes. First, the report can promote awareness and understanding of local social conditions and trends, positive and negative alike. Second, the report can encourage renewed efforts to address and improve social conditions through collective community efforts born of awareness and understanding.

This report is not an evaluation of the efforts already underway to address many of the identified issues. Rather, the report will strengthen our commitment to work together to identify and achieve common social goals.

Thank you to the many organizations and individuals who volunteered their time and talent to help develop and produce this report. Their belief in the importance of this project to promote informed community discussion and engagement is sincerely appreciated.
